Social Media Sharing.

We all know that La La Land didn’t win the Oscar for “Best Movie”, the actual winner was Moonlight.

The reason for the stuff up? The PWC accountants were tweeting from back stage. Was this all apart of a clever Social Media Strategy? It allows us to feel present in this moment, while capturing and sharing a major key moment that creates connection and credibility.

The tools are extensive, and options are endless. How do you use Social Media to your advantage?

1.       Facebook feeds

Reaching out to business, attendees and exhibitors. Creating anticipation and expectations. It is the easiest way to get your event on the calendar. There is a massive amount of content for the lead up to an event. Use this to your advantage and speak to your audience.

2.       Get everyone involved.

Competitions, hashtags and tweets. This list is endless when it comes to attendee involvement. It’s easy once you have a captured audience. The only problem you will have, is keeping people away from their emails.

3.       Publish hastags

Feeding positive tweets and insta posts back to your mobile app, facebook, webpage. Half the fun of Social Media is being recognised and publishing the event creates a sense of community. Giving you a library of material to work with.

4.       Follow up with the best bits.

This is how you keep the after glow long after the event. Working with engagement and updating news. Reminding attendees what they wanted to know and what they will need to know next year.

Today you must have Social Media with your event, it is your friend and will do a lot of the work for you.
